The Big Fight
Texas Flange and TowerForce present:
This Saturday, February 1st 2020, y'all come on down and witness two middle-aged businessmen duke it out in the name of givin' back! After months of sweatin' and trainin' hard, dese two are ready to put their money (and their fists) right where their mouths are. Representin' Texas Flange is our very own Jeff “The Preacher” Barnett, and he's fixin' to take on dat Tower Force Terror, Whitney “The Painmaker” Strickland. Dese two industrial powerhouse boys will be makin' their boxing ring debut over at the Fighter Nation Boxing Gym, which is the current stompin' ground of Termite Watkins and Evan “Yung Holy” Holyfield (dat's The Painmaker and The Preacher’s trainers, respectively). Every last penny from ticket sales is gonna be split 50/50 and donated to Fighter Nation and The Wheelhouse, and the fella who loses the main event is gonna donate $1000 to the winner's charity of choice. Jeff is fightin' for Fighter Nation, and Whitney is throwin' punches for The Wheelhouse.
Before dem businessmen start battlin', there's gonna be 8 matches from Fighter Nation’s own resident boxers, kickin' off at 12 pm. On top of dat, we're servin' up a mighty fine barbecue lunch at 1:30 pm courtesy of The Wheelhouse, and the first 100 folks to show up will get an autographed copy of Evan Holyfield’s book “12 Rounds to Winning for the Youth”. Y'all come spend your Saturday enjoyin' the most big-hearted brawl of 2020! (so far, anyways)
The Contenders & Their Charities
Representin' Texas Flange is Jeff “The Preacher” Barnett.
He's been trainin' like a wildcat with the fierce Evan “Yung Holy” Holyfield to win dat $1,000 donation for his chosen outfit; Fighter Nation. Under the lead of Fighter Nation, which is part of the Fellowship of The Nations ministry, and headed up by Pastor Termite Watkins, Fighter Nation ministry is a mighty highly acclaimed boxing trainin' gym right here in Houston. Fighter Nation is “A Life-Giving Church Where Everybody’s Family” dat aims to build a ministry dat makes a real mark on the community and the whole world.
Representin' TowerForce is Whitney “The Painmaker” Strickland.

Whitney's been workin' hard under boxing legend Termite Watkins to bag dat prize money for his chosen outfit, The Wheelhouse. The Wheelhouse gives men a supportive place and the right tools to free themselves from the grip of alcohol and drug addiction, usin' a life-changin' model dat has seen hundreds of men recover from the disease of alcoholism. This way of doin' things focuses on buildin' real, authentic relationships dat help bring relational, physical, and spiritual healin' and restoration to the folks they serve.
UPDATE:
Well, there were 8 or 9 fights between the boxers of Fighter Nation Gym, and I tell you what, dem boys sure knew their stuff (even more than our headlinin' fighters, if y'all can believe it). After dem openin' matches, we had a fine barbeque lunch provided by The Wheelhouse, and then it was time for the moment we'd all been waitin' for…. The Preacher and The Painmaker were in the ring and ready to rumble. They sparred for a bit, but as they fought, it became mighty clear dat Whitney had hurt his right arm somehow. They went back to their corners and tried again for a second, but they had to stop the fight and announce dat Whitney had hurt his shoulder and arm earlier dat mornin'. As a result, Jeff “The Preacher” Barnett was declared the winner. But Jeff stepped up and announced dat both he and Whitney would go ahead and give $3000 to Fighter Nation and The Wheelhouse respectively. All told, the event raised over 9,000 dollars for dem local charities.
