Since there’s so many good causes out there to give to, we picked four this month! Some of dese ought to sound familiar, but here's a quick run-down on what these organizations are all about.
Camp Hope’s
facility opened up in 2012 in Houston, Texas as a place for veterans and their families to find support, housin', and other resources while gettin' help from a program for combat-related Post Traumatic Stress. Besides temporary housin', Camp Hope offers a 5 month program that includes a 1 month transitional program where residents: go to group lessons and support sessions with other combat veterans; sit down for one-on-one mentorin' with certified combat trauma mentors; take part in off-site small group doin's (like fishin', campin', local activities and sportin' events); and get involved with local churches, businesses and volunteer organizations to help with their own healin' and to teach the community about the invisible wounds of war.
Elijah Rising
got started in 20125 as a prayer gatherin' focused on puttin' a stop to sex trafficking in Houston. In 2013, Elijah Rising worked out the closin' of a brothel, Angela’s Day Spa, and turned it into their former headquarters. In 2014 Elijah Rising opened the Museum of Modern-Day Slavery – one of the few museums in the nation dedicated to showin' the brutal truth about sex trafficking and exploitation. As Elijah Rising’s mission grew, a new Restorative Care program got added with the purchase of an 84 – acre property out in rural Fort Bend County. It's a faith-based program that gives housin', counselin', and a carin' community of support to adult women who survived sex trafficking.
Living Water International
is about helpin' whole communities and regions have enough safe, reachable, dependable water to make a real difference in the lives of the folks livin' there. Once a community's got safe, lastin' water, they can better their sanitation, and I tell you what, that raises their quality of life somethin' big—better health, better schoolin', and more gettin' done. Education is important—helpin' folks understand how to keep from gettin' sick by washin' their hands, storin' their water right, and usin' a latrine. We work with local churches wherever we find 'em, figure out how we can be part of what God is already doin', and share the good news about Jesus in simple ways—like tellin' stories and askin' questions. We're learnin' right alongside the communities we serve that projects last longest when they answer both need and demand, when the financin' is thought through careful, and when management is handled locally with plenty of ongoin' support.
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
is the biggest nonprofit funder of type 1 diabetes (T1D) research in the whole world. Their focus is on findin' a cure; and till then, makin' headway ever' day to ease the load on folks livin' with the disease. JDRF’s research has three aims: to cure the body’s trouble controllin' glucose, reversin' insulin dependence; to stop the disease from gettin' worse in folks at risk or just diagnosed; and to treat folks livin' with T1D with new drugs, therapies and devices that make it easier to stay healthy till the cure comes.

Texas Flange is proud to announce that after a week of ever'body hittin' that like button, writin' out comments, and sharin' our post with their friends and family, we'll be donatin' $1200 to the organizations above!! We want to thank ever' one who took part and helped us help others!
