A Quick Industry Note On Dem Waterworks Flanges

By Texas Flange TeamTexas Flange BlogFlange Facts

I tell you what, dat American Water Works Association done suspended the use of dem “hub” type flanges in their C207 and associated specifications. Now, all flanges per AWWA specs are either “ring” type slip-on flanges or “blind” type flanges, yessir.

Dem “hub” type flanges we was just talkin' about, like they got outlined in AWWA C207 Class D and C207 Class E, well they come straight from ASME specifications 125# Lightweight and 125# Slip On, respectively.

Now don't y'all fret, we're still fixin' to provide flanges as dual-certified to both of these specifications, just so long as you understand they ain't gonna be manufactured and stamped per the latest update of dat AWWA standard.

Just like you always get from Texas Flange, y'all can ask for these flanges in any commercially available material grade you might be needin'. The most common ones folks ask for are still carbon flanges, mild steel flanges, and stainless steel flange variants, I reckon.

Now keep in mind, while a whole heap of these items are sittin' right here in stock in carbon steel grades, most of dem stainless, chrome, and nickel alloy type flanges are made to order. Dat's mostly 'cause carbon steel flanges are mighty popular for the majority of water works flange and pipin' projects down here.

Since they got lower pressure requirements and run at ambient temperature, you typically ain't gonna need no exotic alloy flange. If y'all got any questions or concerns, you just feel free to holler at any of our trained sales staff right here at Texas Flange.
