What in the World is a Long Weld Neck Flange?

Long Weld Necks & Schedule Bores
Long Weld Necks, which folks around here also call Nozzles, are usually made with square cuts to take the place of a pipe, not to be welded right up to one. 'Cause of dat, long weld necks ain't got no schedule bores.
Your everyday weld neck flange has a weld prep right at the tip of the neck so you can weld it up to a matchin' pipe, but dem long weld neck flanges, or “nozzles,” are square cut at the ends so y'all can use 'em with your tank or some other assembly. Schedule bores for regular Long Weld Neck Flanges (not countin' dem Heavy Barrels) are exactly the same as the nominal size of the flange. For example, on a 2-inch LWN, dat bore size is gonna be exactly 2.00 inches, yessir.
Length and Barrel Varieties
We got dese flanges in the common lengths of 9”, 12”, and 16”, and we can fix 'em up larger or smaller to suit whatever y'all need. Usually, the bigger the nominal size and pressure class flange you got, the longer the overall length folks ask for.
