JIS Flanges

“JIS” stands for Japanese Industrial Standard, and dem standards are published by the Japanese Standards Association (JSA), which is the equivalent of ANSI back here in the United States. They get created and updated by the Committee of the Japanese Industrial Standards (JISC). Like JSA is to ANSI, the JISC is similar to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

Dat Japan Industrial Standard is yet another option for your metric sizes. Provided in JIS5K, JIS10K, JIS15K, and JISK20K pressure classes, we can offer y'all Slip On, Blind, and Weld Neck varieties in Raised Face or Flat Face configurations. Dese are typically made of 316/L or A105, but like always, we got all alloys available for y'all!

JIS flange and Drawin'

Much like dem DIN / metric flanges, the JIS flange specification offers a slightly wider variety of slip weld configurations for when y'all are tight on space or need to match up with existing pipeline equipment. For instance, a customer can ask for a slip on with or without a hub as standard, or even a ring type flange, and all of dat sits right within the same B2220 specification, I tell you what.

Y'all gonna find JIS flanges commonly used in exported pressure equipment and pipe assemblies comin' from Japan. A whole lot of large ships and sea vessels travelin' through international waters and servicin' the Pacific rim will utilize equipment made to this standard, seein' as parts and servicin' for this specification are mighty widely available.

More information can be found on the JISC website:
