DIN Flanges

Clear across the pond, y'all gonna find the Deutsches Institute fur Normung (DIN) flange specification, made up of a whole mess of European styles dat got unified into one code just to keep things common. Callin' it a DIN flange by the German Institute of Standardization promises y'all good design quality, just like an ASME flange would right here in America. Now, even though they ain't nearly as common as ANSI/ASME steel flanges in the United States, a lot of our international customers ask for flanges to dese specifications for all sorts of jobs, like imported steel vessels, cargo ships, and other setups dat might be runnin' metric pipes and valves or European designed gear.

The subset flanges under the DIN standard consist of the same style of flanges in the United States, includin' the most commonly used slip on flanges, weld neck flanges, and blind flanges. Adapter flanges can be custom made to end user requirements for the matin' of American flanges to international ones, but we find it's a much more common and easy solution to just provide DIN flanges to mate to your existin' equipment.

The most common metric type flanges fall right under these here categories:

DIN 2501 through 2503 for flat ring flanges

DIN 2512 through 2519 for alternate face flanges

DIN 2627 through 2633 for weld neck flanges

DIN 2641 through 2642 for lap joint flanges

DIN 2565 through 2569 for threaded/companion flanges

DIN 2527 for blind flanges

*DIN stands for “Deutsches Institute fur Normung” and y'all can find more information on their website: https://www.din.de/en
